Box Set of 2 Tintin mini books in black and white.  Les Editions du Petit Vingtieme, Brussels, not dated, circa 1990.  Limited edition 1,500 copies.

"Tintin in the Land of the Soviets," the inaugural adventure in "The Adventures of Tintin" series by Belgian comic legend Herge, was first published in black and white, as were the next nine volumes in the series. In the 1940s, Herge re-released the nine in color and then switched to color-only cartoons.  It is not entirely clear why Herge chose not to re-issue Tintin in the Land of the Soviets in color. Some critics consider it Herge's most primitive piece and believe the artist was embarrassed by it.  A colorized version was finally issued in 2017, thirty four years after Herge’s death, using colors used in the subsequent works.

This boxed set of two mini books (about 4X5 each) has the original French language and English translation versions, both in black and white, and is accompanied by a numbered, limited edition print, the thickness of a typical piece of paper, of a page from the book. Scarce with print.

Books are fine, print has a scantly perceptible crease owing to being a smidge larger than the box, box is fine save for a little tape residue to bottom.
