Henry Demarest Lloyd (1847 – 1903) was an American journalist and political activist who was a prominent muckraker during the Progressive Era. He is best known for his exposés of Standard Oil which were written before Ida Tarbell's series for McClure's on the same topic (Wikipedia).  He is also the author of Wealth against Commonwealth.

A fine copy save for light mottling to small band across lower front board in better than very good dust wrapper, bright and fresh with clipped corners, two inch tears to front panel and front fold, small chip to lower spine.  Scarce.
