• Leon Spinks (1953 - 2021) who engineered what is considered one of the biggest upsets in boxing history by defeating Muhammad Ali in only his 8th pro fight, a feat Spinks boasted about adding “Beat Ali 1978"'.  Gold medalist in 1976 Montreal games.
• Riddick Bowe (b. 1967), two-time world heavyweight champion, silver medalist at the Seoul games in 1988, and the first boxer to defeat Evander Holyfield by knockout
• Ken Norton (1943 - 2013), heavyweight champion 
• Emile Griffith (1938 - 2013), six-time champion in three weight divisions
• Ingemar Johansson (1932 - 2009), heavyweight champion from 1959-1960 and silver medalist at the ‘52 Olympics in Helsinki
• Joe Frazier (1944 - 2011), heavyweight champion, gold medalist at the 1964 Olympics and the first boxer to defeat Muhammad Ali
• Marvis Frazier (b. 1960), son of Joe Frazier
• Gerry Cooney (b. 1956), who challenged twice for the world heavyweight title and is regarded to be one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history
