Boston: Beacon Press, 1994. First Edition of Zinn's memoir spanning thirty years from teaching at the HBCU Spelman College to his work as a social activitist.

A presentation copy, dated in the year of publication, signed simply as "Howard" and inscribed by Zinn to Nobelist Barnard Lown and his wife Louise.  In 1985, Lown accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, an organization he co-founded with Soviet cardiologist Yevgeny Chazov.  

Fixtures of the same Boston-Cambridge activist milieu in the anti-war and nuclear-disarmament movements — Zinn on the faculty at Boston University, Lown a cardiologist at Harvard — Zinn also contributed the foreword to Lown's 2008 memoir, Prescription for Survival: A Doctor's Journey to End Nuclear Madness.
